i can't decide
but maybe it was the cat
curled up in the crook of my knee
tucked away
under the blankets
and layers of sleep
that brought on such dreams
a repetitive story
that allowed for surprise
wandering from room to room
every time i saw you
i felt the blush of satisfaction
like the purr of a cat
